CWG probe: I-T raids CWG suppliers, BJP’s Sudhanshu Mittal

It was revealed that one of the contractors was related to Sudhanshu.  Two of the companies raided – D’Art and Meroform – are suspected of dubious transactions in CWG contracts. While D’Art deals in furniture, Meroform is into surface overlays. Four companies that won contracts to supply overlay items for the Games were under fire. They are Pico-Deepali, GL Meroform, ESG Arena D’Art Indo and Nussli.  The Indian arms of the first three consortia were raided by the income tax authorities. Deepali Design and Exhibits is the Indian partner of Pico-Deepali and won CWG contracts worth Rs 230 crore.  ESG Arena D’Art Indo consortium won contracts worth Rs 93 crore and has D’Art Furniture Systems as its Indian partner. GL Meroform won contracts worth Rs 165 crore, its local face being Meroform India. Investigators suspect that the consortia were formed to bypass restrictions because the Indian partners did not have the requisite experience to bid as suppliers for a mega event like the CWG.last_img
