Allardyce sends warning to Everton over £50m Richarlison deal

first_img“Everybody has seen the drop off since Silva left or maybe slightly before he left, but he has worked with him first hand and on a daily basis, so he’s backing his own judgement.“He must see the potential in him. Today £50milion is the going rate for potential, especially on the front line and if the player has goals in him.“But what I would be careful about is if you’re saying you’re buying potential, Everton fans don’t want potential.“They want the absolutely first class player now, to play now to try and rival their big rivals down the road and try and get into Europe.“So if you’re buying Richarlison as a future player, that’s not what Everton fans want to see. They want to see the team right up there fighting with the best and fighting for the top four.” Sam Allardyce has sent a warning to Everton over their rumoured £50million deal to sign Watford’s Richarlison. 3 3 READ MORE: ‘Richarlison is worth £50m’, former Everton striker tells talkSPORTAllardyce believes new Everton boss Marco Silva – who was in charge at Watford when Richarlison signed – must have seen something in the player to prompt such a big transfer fee.But Big Sam believes the Blues would be better off spending the money on a ready-made player who can help them fight for European football.Speaking on Monday’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, Allardyce said: “They’re buying potential and obviously the manager believes he can realise that potential because he worked with him.“He burst onto the scene absolutely brilliantly last season.
