Alternate No. 2 included upgraded chemical stain floor coverings for the concrete floors of the learning facility. Alternate No. 4 was for the installation of folding doors and partitions as identified in the architectural drawings. Alternate No. 6 included the work and materials for the furnishing and installation of grading, curbing, walks, excavation, site preparation, storm sewers, etc. necessary for the circular roadway at the facility.Dr. Mark Bazzell, Superintendent of Education for the Pike County School System, said at long last the board can move ahead with the process necessary to let bids for the Center for Advanced Academics and Accelerated Learning Facility and, in good time, the groundbreaking ceremony. In closing, Bazzell informed the board that two system students graduated with associate degrees from Troy University on Friday and 15 students will graduate from Enterprise State Community College with associate degrees next week. “These students are on their way to college careers,” he said. “We want to thank Troy University Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. for the university’s partnership with the Pike County School System.
